Grid map questionaire

Room 8 has been learning how to use a grid map and compass direction.  Our objective was to choose a country or an area in the world and create questions about the area we have chosen.

Questions:
How many kilometres is Kamimachi from Hikifune?
How many roads will it take to go to Hawakita from Asakusabashi?
If you were travelling from Chuo city to Nakano city - What way would you be travelling?
What is the fastest route from Gakushuin University to Tokyo national museum?

What would be the longest route from Gakushuin University to Tokyo National Museum?

What grid is Roppongi hills on?

What city is F5?

What roads will i take to drive from Kawakita Hospital to Heiji University?

Aroha's way

Aroha ventures into the forest and experiences feelings of depression and happiness.

Aroha ran free with the wind, her hair swaying on her back feeling peaceful hearing the birds twirp above her.  Aroha's friends were chasing her through the tall old trees, Aroha however ran so far through the forest her friends didn't know where she went...they thought she disappeared and began searching.

Aroha suddenly stepped wondering why her friends weren't there, her mind came into thoughts everything coming closer and closer. She starts to feel lonely & hopeless while tall old trees and bushes surround her. Aroha lays against a tree feeling tied down crying, saying pessimistic words to herself, her feelings of being free and at peace are broken.

Aroha got up and thought everything straight breathed in and out, she heard a slight voice calling her name. It was Aroha’s friends asking where she was, she began to be hopeful and calm.  Her friends took her by the sea, Aroha exhaled deeply and overcame her fears.

Diary Entry

Tis is a diary entry I have written as part of drama using the story 'Mophead' by Selina Tusitala Marsh

Today I went to a restorative justice meeting ....The bully got justice once and for all.  Both of our families sat face to face. Nervous shocks ran up and down my body as the bully confessed and apologised. My Mum & Dad and the rest of my family were sitting there shocked and furious with what the bully had done to me. It was my turn to speak and I said the same thing the bully had said, I left afterwards feeling happy because now I could live normally without any disturbance and be free forever.

A way to paradise

Possum life in Australia is hard for them because they have predators that keeps the possum population stable. Possum life in New Zealand is different because there are no predators that hunt for possums so they breed and breed and the population of possums explodes in NZ.

Bird watchers - drama

Yesterday, for drama we began a study on Rapunzel.  Instead of reading the story we had to design an article to support a 10 second drama around different artefacts associated with the Fairy Tale.  The artefacts consisted of black cape, bird/nest necklace, padlock and key and lastly a golden crown.

Here is the article my group constructed around the artefact our group chose.

Steamship Station - Drama in Schools - The Matchbox diary

 My Days Wasted

"...I tried to sleep on the cold planked floor of the ship, I couldn't sleep as the first class individuals kept dancing and singing above me. I heard the moans of a baby crying, weeping, people sniffing their nostrils out and sneezing. The wind blowing peoples stink into my face like rotten eggs in a shoe..."

Information about a war telegram

Meanwhile, the 19th and the first half of the 20th-century telegrams were commonly utilized to send critical or vital news. Telegrams were important back in WW1 as they enabled people to interact with other people on the battlefield or to send an urgent broadcast to the other troops. Some soldiers sent messages to their families, and soldiers on the front line were able to send information to and receive information from the officers in their headquarters throughout World War One.

This telegram sent by the military, informing parents & Guardians that their son had been missing or had been killed in action.
